The numbers

  1. HUMAIN’s target3 GW

of AI data-centre capacity by 2030.

HUMAIN is the PIF-backed AI company. On 1 Nov 2026 Aramco closed a deal for a 49% stake, with about $2.6B in cash during 2026.

  2. Saudi Arabia’s operational data-centre capacity

    6.5x in four years

    202168 MWthe whole Kingdom
    2025440 MWthe whole Kingdom

3 GW is about 6.8x the whole 2025 base (my arithmetic).

  3. The Nvidia expansion announced in October 2026

Up to 84 MW. 14 MW this quarter.

    Starts Q4 202614 MWBlackwell B300, about 6,000 GPUs
From mid-202770 MWVera Rubin, subject to final agreements

  4. NEOM, Oxagon campus50 MW

for Nebius, under a preliminary framework, from Q4 2027.

Half of the first 100 MW being built, in a planned 360 MW first phase.

  5. The people side2x+

Saudi Arabia’s share of global AI talent, 2019 to 2025. Fastest growth of any country.

A share of world talent, so it grew from a small base.

  6. Read the fine print

Most of it is still a plan

Targets, ‘up to’ figures and preliminary frameworks are not capacity. Of the 84 MW Nvidia plan, 70 MW still needs final agreements.

The direction is clear, though. The base was 440 MW. The plan is measured in gigawatts.

Compute is coming closer

  1. Expect local AI hosting options. Useful when data has to stay in the country.
  2. Infra skills will be in demand. Building and running data centres takes people, not just chips.
  3. Track what goes live, not what’s signed. 14 MW this quarter is the number to watch.
